About
Following a sold-out performance in February, the legendary Dur-Dur Band returns to The Jazz Cafe. Known for delivering joyful global funk, vibrant wah-wah guitars, and authentic Somali rhythms, they remain a pinnacle of pan-African music. Led by founding bassist Abdillahi Ujeeri, the band was a cornerstone of the Mogadishu golden era of funk and disco in the 70s and 80s. The name 'Dur-Dur' translates to 'spring' in Somali, perfectly reflecting their refreshing and timeless musical sound.
