About

This exhibition, created by the Amy-Johnson-Gymnasium in cooperation with the Documentation Center for Nazi Forced Labor, highlights the life of Hélène Fauriat (1918–1999). A brave fighter in the French Résistance, Fauriat was arrested by the Gestapo in June 1944 due to her anti-occupation activities. She was subsequently deported to the Ravensbrück concentration camp and later transferred to the Henschel-Werke forced labor camp in Schönefeld. The display provides a moving biographical account of resilience and the dark history of Nazi forced labor.
