About
This exhibition explores the migration of Italians to Berlin starting in the mid-19th century. Driven by the search for better living and working conditions, around 14 million Italians left their homes between 1861 and 1914, with many settling in the growing metropolis of Berlin, particularly the Prenzlauer Berg district. The display highlights the impact of their unique craftsmanship, trades, and musical traditions on the city's local culture. Now extended until June 21, 2026, the exhibition provides a comprehensive look at the historical contribution of the Italian community. Discover how these migrants shaped the social fabric of the neighborhood.
