About

This exhibition at the Museum Lichtenberg im Stadthaus explores the profound influence of historical events on Berlin's street names, noting that nearly every epoch of recent German history has left its mark. Street name changes are a recurring and often emotional topic of public discourse. For the first time, the museum dedicates itself to comprehensively examining the evolution of street naming within the district. Initiated over five years ago by the Working Group of Berlin Regional Museums, this exhibition aims to provide clear explanations while also encouraging dialogue and understanding of these significant historical narratives.
