About

This compelling exhibition at the Gotisches Haus dives into the history of the Spandau Moritzkirche, which may have been the oldest church in what is now Berlin. The story begins around 1180 with a wooden structure and graveyard, eventually evolving into a stone building in the 13th century. Through archaeological findings and historical records, visitors can trace the architectural transformations and the eventual fate of the site. Curated by Dr. Torsten Dressler and Dr. Urte Evert, the exhibition provides a window into the medieval life of the region. It also explores the impact of the Napoleonic era on the local urban landscape. This historical journey is open to all with free admission.
