Female Being, Intellectually Versatile, Seeking – Helga Goetze

In 1983, the feminist magazine COURAGE noted that an approach to Helga Goetze seemed impossible, yet published an interview with her regardless. As a 61-year-old in 1980s West Berlin, Goetze established herself as an unavoidable disruptor through her provocative actions. She was frequently seen near the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, famously shouting the word 'fucking' with articulation at passersby. This exhibition explores her life, her role as a self-proclaimed agitator, and the legacy of her constant vigils at Breitscheidplatz.
