The Schwartz Villa

Once a grand bourgeois summer residence, now a vibrant culture house—the Schwartzsche Villa has experienced much throughout its 125-year history. Through photographs, architectural drawings, and reproductions of original documents, the exhibition introduces the building and the Schwartz banking family, who commissioned its construction between 1895 and 1897. The exhibition also traces the eventful history of the building after 1945 and the challenging path it took to become the cultural hub it is today.
