What is the patina of the future, and what materials and colors define it? This exhibition explores visions of the future through the lens of material aesthetics, inviting visitors to actively shape the curatorial space. Expectations and desires for the future are often inscribed into this patina: smooth, silver surfaces have been a staple of futuristic concepts since Le Corbusier’s 'machine for living' and Fritz Lang’s dystopian masterpiece 'Metropolis'. By questioning these established narratives, the exhibition offers a reflective space on how we build our tomorrows.
