About

This performance celebrates the 60th anniversary of the management of the Urgell Canals by the General Community of Irrigators. 'Opera in the Veins' is a musical journey along the waterways of Ponent, narrating for the first time the epic history of the Urgell Canal, one of the most significant and transformative engineering feats of the 19th century in Catalonia and Europe. By bringing water to what was once a desert, the canal literally transformed the landscape into life. Based on an adaptation of the book 'Aigua a les venes', this theatrical and musical spectacle offers a powerful reflection on human ingenuity and our relationship with the land. Experience this grand production at the historic Palau de la Música Catalana for an unforgettable evening of culture and history.
