About

Batecs explores the complex realities of motherhood, expectation, and desire through the stories of three protagonists: Carla, Joana, and Angie. The play follows them as they confront the loss of life when they were expecting it, navigating the difficult stages of gestational grief. Each story traverses different paths marked by loneliness, ethics, and silence, shedding light on the pressure to become a mother, the decision to abort, infertility, and the commodification of reproduction. This theatrical work offers a poignant look at the female experience, challenging the audience to reflect on the societal expectations placed upon women. It is a deep, thought-provoking performance that demands empathy and open dialogue.
